As with most of these lessons, this helps me to contextualize my native language (English). I feel that this will serve as a guide to teaching the core parts of grammar. For example, I generally will not need to teach the origins of a word, even though it can be fascinating. Even though I would like to teach the background of why we say "get on the bus," rather than "get in the bus," the origin is irrelevant when teaching the basics of communication.
