In this unit, I have learnt that when you are teaching a new language there are four critical things that students need to do when learning a new language; which are as follows, exposure, meaning, construction and be able to practise and produce it. This unit also taught that grammar is very important and it works hand in glove with vocabulary. As a teacher, you can use the ESA format when introducing a new language. In addition, vocabulary is also very important in the early stages of learning a new language. The unit also shed more light on which vocabulary to teach the students, and what students need to know about vocabulary. I now have knowledge on how to best engage students with methods such as recilia, mimicking and actions.
