Technology in the classroom is super important. Students that live in a high technology household respond very positively to any stimuli that remind them of their home. Using Youtube clips and movie clips to introduce the reading or grammar of a topic is very useful for the Engage step. Google Image search is very useful for vocabulary and understanding of context. Music and atmospheric sounds are great to play during student work and it keeps them relaxed and focused. It is also a lot of fun to have a bunch of sound effects to play at call for certain things like when the teacher enters the classroom, a timer is up, or other activities and ideas. Making the classroom fun is very important. I am really happy with the number of resources that this lesson provides. Half the planning of a lesson is spent trying to find the right material or making it.
