It is important to understand the correlation between reading and listening. They are two different but intertwined sensors. The both play a very important role in the ability to comprehend and will directly impact the way students learn. The ability to listen and comprehend is often difficult I think for English speakers, because it requires a more focused process without the visual ability that reading allows. However, being an effective educator requires that you not only recognize the difference, but also that you are effective in helping your students to be effective from both areas.
