While there are common problems that can arise, there are many ways to tackle these problems and it's important to know what problems can happen, even to the most experienced teacher, and how to solve that problem. For first lessons for example, it is used to establish rapport between students, find out about the students, their needs and aspirations and to find out about individual class members. Some warmer ideas can be short, fun communicative activities such as hangman, Pictionary, tongue twisters and memory games. When you have students of different levels, you can use different materials based on their level, same material but different tasks, let the students find out their own levels, or pair stronger students with weaker ones. In large classes, worksheets, pair/group work, clarity and choral repetition can be use. Other problematic situations can arise such as use of native language in the classroom, reluctant students or difficulty with listening texts.
