Unit eight focuses on the future tense. The future tense also makes use of the four components which include simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. However, it includes: be going plus infinitive, the present simple and the present continuous. Once again, this unit examined the different tenses using the headings - form, usages, typical errors and activate stage teaching ideas. These areas were used to analyse the seven future tenses which include future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, be going plus infinitive, the present simple and the present continuous. I learnt what the common errors are that students make and what may have led to the error being made. Careful analysis of these errors will allow me to understand where the students are coming from and better able to correct the mistake. Ideas on what activities to do in the activate stage were also provided to me as examples to use in the classroom. All of the above mentioned aspects will prepare me for teaching a solid lesson on future tenses.
