This unit explains the purpose of lesson planning and what are some important things a teacher should consider when planning a lesson. I learnt that while it is good to have a lesson plan to help a teacher stay focused and run a lesson more smoothly, it is important to remain flexible and allow adjustments to certain segments of the lesson based on the needs of the students. I also learnt that eliciting answers during the study phase is helpful in ensuring that students understand the language point before proceeding to complete the activity.
