UNIT 9 -LESSON PLANNING In this unit I learnt all about lesson planning, its purpose and how to create a lesson plan form. Lesson planning is important as it it acts as an aid to planning,a working document and also as a record so as a teacher you can also look back to see past lessons and this will help in assessing your performance as well as that pf your students. There are certain things that need to be included in a lesson plan and these are; Personal aims - what you as a teacher would like to achieve and improve on Learner objectives -what you want the students to able to do after the lesson Language point- Theme of the lesson Teachings aids -What materials will be used to carry out the activities. Anticipated problems-These are any problem you think you or the students might incur during the lesson, this should always be paired with the most suitable solution. Procedure -Activities that will help to achieve learner objectives. Phase- Engage, study and Activate. Timing-Each activity should be allocated enough time. The other items to include in the lesson plan form are class time, number of students ,date and name of teacher or observer. Monitoring lessons is a very important factor to consider as a teacher as it helps you to assess your performance and also how you can strengthen your weaknesses. This can be done through self evaluation forms. Issues to consider when planning a sequence lesson; 1.Flexibility 2.Variety and balance 3.Goals 4.Revision
