Unit nine is revolved around planning lessons. Being a teacher, I have been fortunate to have been exposed to lesson plans as a requirement for my course and to put into practice in real life. The structure of the lesson plans in this unit is very similar to what I have been taught. The only major difference is that these are English language lessons where as my lesson plans are for different subjects. I find the structure of the lesson plans easy to follow and will allow for my time in the classroom to be used as effectively as possible. They also include a broad range of areas to focus on in the planning stage so that when it comes to giving the actual lesson, everything is already in place and the focus can remain on the lesson at hand. Lessons plans also provide a record of what has been taught, when and by whom. This is essential for when a teacher leaves and a new one takes his or her place. All in all, planning a lesson beforehand is very important to be prepared and focused on the day of the lesson and to be better able to deal with problems that may arise with solutions already in place.
