I have learnt in the section of ''Teaching Special Groups'' about different language levels of English learners.Beginners need lots of repetition and drilling, especially as they get to grips with the sounds of their new language. It might seem boring to go over the same sentences again and again, but it is necessary. When practising a new sentence, try back-drilling, breaking the sentence down into manageable units and then building it back up, working backwards from the end of the sentence to the beginning; this helps to ensure that your intonation is natural and that you get elements of connected speech right. It is necessary to keep instructions clear and simple.ndividual lessons can be beneficial for students and more rewarding for teachers. When you know what the student needs and how to achieve that goal, you can target your one-on-one lessons to produce more rapid results.By spending more time with a single teacher who knows the student and his/her abilities, the student will receive greater individualized lessons.A multilingual class, on the other hand, is one with a mix of students from various countries who may all speak different languages.Students in a multilingual classroom can’t chat in their first language or turn to their classmate to clarify a grammar point or define a vocab word in their mother tongue. All communication has to be in the common language—English. While more challenging, this is great practice for students. All students have objectives when taking an English class, but this is especially true of Business English students.A very important part of the needs analysis process should be a discussion about the context in which the course participants need to perform: Why are they learning English? Who do they communicate with in their work and under what conditions? Someone who is learning English just to brush up fluency skills will have different needs and expectations to someone who is learning English to supervise a team working in another country.
