In this unit I learned the objectives of the course, such as for the English teacher to be able to create a teaching syllabus, to be able to deliver lessons to a range of target groups, to know how to find or create teaching material and to know ways of assessing students before, during and at the end of the course. I also learned the general course content of each of the six units.
This unit also provided the course instructions, a comprehensive list of TEFL-related acronyms, an explanation of who is considered a young learner (generally students aged five to thirteen) and what kind of salary and contact hours to expect generally whether working in a school, language school, or one-on-one in various parts of the world.
