Watching the two video clips, I've realised that the engage state is very important in an ESA lesson because it helps the students to have an idea of what is going to be learned. Also the attitude and posture of the teacher has a serious effect on the lesson as a whole. Corrections are not to be done during the engage stage or the activate stage. This is because students are expected to feel more relaxed to use and practice language points they already know or what they have just been taught. Students participate effectively if there is a good rapport between teachers and students and that can go a long way to affect the effectiveness and the success of the lesson.
