I agree with the intro of this unit and I must admit that I never payed much attention of this aspect when I started to study English. My teacher of English only spent two classes to teach us the rules of pronunciations, stressing, vowels, consonants and none of us really made the effort to learn them. And the reason was because all these rules come along with your studying. you must simply practice pronunciation every single class and the results do not come by learning these rules by heart, the results will come along the way, with time. if you study every day, your pronunciation will improve. It is good for me as a future teacher of English to know all these rules, it is good to know what exercises should I do with my future students to improve them pronunciation but I know that great results will only come along the way , by the time and not by teaching them rules of how to do it correctly.
