Unit 5 is dedicated to Class management. This unit begins with introduction which tell us about the properties of a good teacher and his style of teaching. Then we learn about different roles of the teacher in the class according to the activities and situations. There are several tools for managing the audience. Those are eye contact, gesture, the voice. We learn how we can use them and what purpose they serve. It is also important to group studends in the class according to the main goal that you want to achieve. For example, it may help students to become more self-reliant or increase their talking time in the class. Such could be whole-class grouping, pairwork, working on their own, working in groups. Each has its pros and cons. The way the teacher organises his position and the position of the students also has great importance. Classroom arrangement and the teacher position depends on the type of activity in the class, the age of the students, their nationality, number and even personality. The teacher should pay attention to all of this. We also receive some advices about writing on the board. This Unit provides us with the important information about teacher and student talking time, their balance, advantages and disadvantages. The rest of the unit shares some ideas about giving attention to the students and instructions. It also tells us how to maintain discipline, establish rapport, prevent and solve problems with student behaviour.
