The Second Unit of this course introduces us to grammar. First paragraphs tells us about the importance of knowing grammar for an English teacher. Then we proceed to reviewing the basic sentence structure which usually consists of a subject and a predicate. Each word in a sentence has its purpose and the meaning. According to that, we can classify them into different parts of speech. Such dictinction allows us to expand our understanding of the language.
Further, the Unit 2 introduces us to 9 parts of speech: nouns, verbs, gerunds, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, articles, prepositions and conjunctions. We learn about their functions, types and usage with the examples provided.
I find this unit useful because I have learnt some new classification of pronouns, adjectives and adverbs. The rest material was familiar to me.
