This lesson I was really familiar with prior to starting because of my teaching experience. I learned about the different tests that are given in schools. There are placement tests that are given to students prior to starting a course in order to know what level the students are at. Diagnostic tests are used to determine what students do or do not know in terms of language. There are also progress tests to see how the students are progressing in the course. This can also help teacher's determine what lessons need to be focused on. There are also external exams that need to be taken by students who are going to use English in a professional or academic manner. TOEFL and IELTS are needed for admission to universities in the United States of America. This was my first time learning about Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC). This test is used for professional workplaces. I also learned about the different Cambridge Assessments.
