All of the future tenses show obvious similarities to the past and present tenses. The -ing endings mean the sentence is continuous. The extra words like have and been make the tense perfect. The 'going to' tense is relatively unique to the future tense. Present simple and present continuous are somewhat confusing because they seem like future tenses but their name says otherwise. Like the other tenses, I can see the formula style explanation being helpful as a teaching tool. I can see myself using the Tasks at the end of the chapter in my own lesson as part of the Study or Activate phase.
