Speaking and writing are both equally important skills even though often times there is heavier focus on speaking. It is important to discern when to focus on accuracy (producing correct language) and when to focus on fluency where students are allowed to experiment with language and work on the flow of communication. Lastly, games should be incorporated into our teaching not only to take up time or avoid responsibilities of planning but to be used as a fun way for students to practice speaking and writing.
