This unit was really interesting because present simple, present perfect, present perfect continuous, etc. are all sentence structures that I use on a daily basis but I never really labeled the tenses. I have learned that there are many different forms of present tense. For example, there are present simple tenses such as "I work" or "I learn" but if you write "I have been working for 5 years" or "I am learning" that is also a form of present tense. I think reading through different activate stage teaching ideas was helpful because it gave me a better perspective on how motivate students to engage in the content/information presented.
