This unit covers specific examples of things to consider when teaching the different types of groups we may come across as teachers. In addition to learning lesson planning and core English grammar, we'll need to understand key points about what is like to teach in different environments. Teaching children is much different than teaching business English at a large company. I currently teach English to children 2-15, teaching the 2 year olds is much different than teaching the teenagers. I'm still learning different methods for my classes and this unit helped me remember some of the important facts about how children learn. I am looking to study more about business English, as this is what I would like to move into later in my teaching career. In the unit, it states that it is not as to fully understand each business field, rather to understand the core techniques for teaching in a variety of situations. Taking the time to learn about the students and their business is what will help design a lesson for them based on their needs.
