I can see how conditionals would confuse many students. As a native English speaker I have no problem at all using the different conditionals but the thought of having to explain their complex structures and different usages is a scary prospect!
I really appreciate the Verb Change guide provided in the Reported speech / Direct speech section and I will add a section for the time expression changes and pronoun changes as well – they also take some thinking about!
The Teaching Ideas sections are very useful and I will add then to my Ideas book.
I found this to be a Unit that will require a lot of extra thought and practice. I can see that when teaching this type of grammar the key is to proceed very slowly.
