It is important for the English teacher to pay careful attention to the needs of the student. Part of doing this involves identifying the proficiency level, the motivation as well as the goal of the students. The needs of children are different to adults, also the needs of beginner English student is different from intermediate students who may have had prior experience in the Language. Students whose goal is to learn the language for performing on the job or for business purposes have yet other needs.
It is important to bear in mind specific peculiarity of each kind of students so an efficient delivery of the lesson is made. For example, teaching young children is similar to taking on a parental role and therefore the lesson as well as the classroom environment needs to reflect this.
