Conditional and Reported speech can be broken down into several parts to help students understand what is being said in a sentence or verbal exchange. Conditionals have to deal with past present and future possibilities including words like "if" and "when" to form a statement. These conditionals are broken down into 5 areas that include, Zero, First, Second, Third and Mixed conditionals. These help students break down a statement such as If I am sick tomorrow, I will stay home. The next area deals with reported speech. This is used to report details to a third or more party about a present or recently past conversation. This has several implications in a classroom as this is English that is used to convey statements about others and ourselves to another party.
