This unit gave a brief overview of the four present tenses. It is important me for to study all the verb tenses including the four present tenses because as a native English speaker I take my language for granted. I learned English through lifelong immersion and have never studied the definite rules and names of tenses, and therefore do not know how to explain what a tense is and what usages are for what tenses. This unit was a brief overview. Of course I would have appreciated more of an in depth study on how to effectively teach the present tenses to my students, but I understand this is only a basic 120 hr TEFL course. I would have appreciated more information though on how to correct students on common present tense mistakes. This unit listed a few mistakes ESL learners make with each tense, but said nothing else. Like why this is happening and valuable ways to re-correct. The unit just left it up to me to figure out.
