Synopsis and review upon the Unit 20; Troubleshooting In this Unit, I learned about the optimized circumstances adapted to certain activities when teaching different groups. The problems that might arise and how to deal and solve them. When it comes to facing the students for the first time. EFL analysis says that usually the first encounter is; New groups and Existing groups When it comes to new groups it is known that the students do now know each other yet so there are actually two tasks that the teacher should cover: 1 get to know the students himself/herself and to make students know each other. This is already settled in when it comes to the existing groups; one task that the teacher should commit is to form rapport with the students ( TEACHER-STUDENT ) There are a couple of methods that the teacher can use to get to know the students and to form student-student rapport: for e.g. Creating a circle and throwing the ball to briefly present themselves, making short games and tell their names and favorite hobbies make questionnaire and surveys etc. It is very crucial to energize the students in the the class. So a solution to this is using warmers. There are so many warmers including; Hangman, crosswords, tongue twisters, memory games etc. Different Level groups, Sometimes classes include students of different level. For the teacher this might create uncomfortable situations but a flexible teacher might create adaptable situations. One way to solve this is by using different types of materials; using all varieties of activities. This will fill the demands of all the levels of students present in the classroom. Also - the teacher should pair up stronger students with weaker students. Use of Native Language, This is sometimes a problem to the whole class because the students find it easier to communicate within their own language rather than using only English. This is why the teacher should give effort to creating situations where only English should be the language of communication. Reluctant Students, Some students are more reluctant than others, this is why the teacher must focus more attention (sometimes) to the lazier, uninterested students. The teacher can solve this problem by using pair work - linking stronger and weaker students and also use role plays; role plays make students more comfortable because they can use other characters to express themselves. Difficulties when listening texts, This is a problem with students from all different nations, and in order to fix this problem the teacher should include authentic material and loads of listening practice. this problem is simply fixed by lots of repetition and listening activities.
