In this unit, I learned 3 ways of evaluation students including tutorials, evaluation by students and tests. There are many forms of tests that can be carried in the class or out of class. To do a placement test, it is better for the teacher to get familiar with what various knowledge a student should have. For me, I must get familiar with our course books in the training centre and to better place every new student. General external examinations are various and are designed for different purposes. I have taken the IELTs test before and already have knowledge of what it will examine and its purpose. I have heard of TOEFL test which is also quite popular here in China. Besides, for Cambridge assessment for general English, I am getting familiar with them. In my opinion, getting good marks in the test is very important and can be fate determining, but accumulation of practical English for daily use is very significant as it will facilitate you to better adapt to the new environment if you are in abroad or if you are in China and can communicate with foreigners.
