This unit about teaching a new language through vocabulary, grammar, and language function is very useful and currently relevant to me. I have been trying to understand what vocabulary words should be selected together. Also, how frequently I should be teaching a new set of vocabulary words, and what all do they need to understand and practice with the vocabulary words to have fully synthesized the new words effectively. I now fully understand that to effectively teach vocabulary the students need to know the meaning/translation of the word, how and when to use it, where it belongs grammatically, how these words interact and affect other words, and spelling and pronunciation. I wish there was more information provided than just six pages, but the task sheet questions helped me to put the little I learned into worthwhile practice.
