I learned a lot in this section about lesson planning, and how to teach students properly. I learned that by engaging students allows them to keep their attention on the lesson and continue paying attention throughout the lesson. I learned that correcting students is a much more delicate art than I had previously thought. Correcting a student must only be done when an error, not a mistake, is made. The teacher should also be the last person to correct an error. It is best to try to let the student or other students correct their mistakes and fix their errors. When that fails the teacher may intervene in an encouraging and polite way. Most corrections should be in the study phase of the lesson as opposed to throughout the lesson. During the activate phase of the lesson students should use all the language that has been learned thus far and practice with it in a creative way. The teacher should keep corrections to a minimum.
