Conditionals “if---, (main clause)” or “when---, (main clause)”
Zero Conditional (facts) A: If/When +present tense, present tense
First Conditional (real situation/ possible) A:If +present simple, (modal verb/ will/ can/ should/ must)
Second Conditional (present or future “unreal”, hypothetical situation, highly unlikely to ever come true) A:If+past simple, would/could/might +base form
Third Conditional (hypothetical past action and hypothetical result/ impossible) A; If +past perfect, would/could/might +have+ past participle
Mixed Conditional A; If +past perfect, would +base form
Common Mistakes_- Students often mix up 1st and 2nd conditional with each other and 3rd and mixed conditional with each other.
