Teachers often have to diversify their lesson plan in order to meet the needs of their students. This often comes in the form of supplemented materials that act as an extra study guide or lesson that will help the student accomplish their goal. That being said, it is important to find a balance of course materials such as course books, created materials and authentic materials over the course of the educational journey in learning the English language. When choosing what to use, the combination must be compatible and transferable in order for the students to use the newly learned skills in their daily lives. This unit provided examples of how we can incorporate different types of materials and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each type. There is no set way or formula for a perfect lesson, and they must be tailored to the learning level and intertest of the students. Some classes may excel using more created material than course books and vice versa. All of it is dependent on the students learning the skills they need.
