I have read and learned in unit 3 a great deal about classroom management. How seating situation is very important. How the different seating situations can give different results, both pros and cons. f.ex how orderly rows is good for having eye contact with all students, and for lecture and for bigger class. But at the same time horse shoe or circle is good for creating an intimate feeling, for the students to work in pair. I have learned about how gestures can be used. How eye contact is very important both the lack of it, and too much, like starring, which can be interpreted as dominant. I have made up different gestures, I could use for giving different signals, like putting op the hand to show "stop the activity", putten the hand behind the ear to show to listen. I have read about how the voice is important, that having a variety of tones if important to ensure less boredom. It's very important to know all the students names, but also for them to learn each others name. they need to create a good classroom atmosphere, and for doing that it's important to make ice breaker in the beginning of a course, to have a lot of pair and group work, to make rapport with the students, to show personal interest in them. I can very much relate to all of this, in my work as a dance teacher, to get all students involved, it's important to show them all interest, but also be sure to ask all of them questions, to help in class, engage in many different ways. I also learned about how simple and clear instructions are very important and that it's always more effective to give an example of the activity to ensure, that the students understand the task.
