Thinking about the 3 things that are possible focuses for lessons made me realize that I perhaps need to re-evaluate how often I look at functions with students, as well as how varied my lessons are in terms of lesson ESA patterns. I think keeping a nice variety of different lesson patterns is a great way to keep things interesting in the classroom. Making sure to always have a balanced lesson with engage activities, as well as study and activation activities is so vital to keeping students interested and present.
