It's good to choose wisely, what kind of course book or text book is propriate for the students regarding to their level of English. Not all course books are good and well done. The teacher can also use two types of materials, such as authentic and created materials. The first type ( magazines, newspapers, brochures, menus, films, videos, etc.) are usually more interesting than the other type - created materials. This type ( crosswords, flash cards, gap-fill activities or materials created by the teacher) are also helpful to supplement materials from the course book.
