This unit is titled "Conditionals and Reported Speech". It treats the different types of conditionals in grammar, how they are formed and how they are used. Added to 'conditionals' are their teaching ideas. The unit also treats reported speeches and the things that change when we turn direct questions in to reported speech. This unit goes ahead to present tenses in direct speech and how they change in the reported speech. The unit concludes by presenting the teaching ideas for time expressions.
This unit has taught me the mix conditionals. Before now, i new just four types of conditionals. I have also learnt the teaching ideas for conditionals like, split sentences, chain conditionals just to name a few. I have also learnt the verb tenses in direct and reported speeches.For example, is the direct speech is in the present simple tense, the present simple tense changes in to the past simple tense in the reported speech. I have also learnt the teaching ideas for time expressions such as, intermediaries ( where in groups of three, one person says a sentence which is then reported to a third person), reporting verbs (higher level students are asked to list as many verbs as possible that replace the reporting verb).
