This unit dealt with the basic skills in a language. They are receptive and productive. It talked about the importance of reading, listening, speaking and writing. All of these skills are equally important for a learner. Some reading or listening is for a purpose whereas the others are for an entertainment. It also dealt with the various ways of reading with special skills. The problems with reading and listening to a language was also interesting to know.
