This unit covered the importance in teaching speaking and writing. Writing is important to teach, especially because it is the most neglected skill when teaching English as a Second Language. Skills that need to be focused on when writing are: handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation, and creative writing. Speaking should focus on accuracy and confidence building to encourage students to speak more. The end of the unit also provided game suggestions such as Jeopardy or Hangman.
