In this unit we had an opportunity to observe and compare two lessons taught to the same class. The lessons were different in terms of both the teacher’s work and the students’ behavior or participation. The first lesson was quite confusing and tense despite a very definite structure and prepared activities. The teacher made numerous mistakes and wasn’t really interested in changing the situation in his classroom. He looked unfocused and dull. This lesson helps us understand how our attitude builds or ruins the atmosphere in the classroom.
The second lesson was conducted much better and effective. The teacher looked more professional and showed that he cared about his students and their words. His explanations were clearer, activities more useful and engaging therefore the key points were comprehended well.
