I really enjoyed this unit because weather or not to use a textbook is a question I have been thinking about for a while. Teaching in a classroom will be a reality for me in the near future, and in realizing how soon that will actually be, I find myself thinking about these kinds of specifications in greater detail. This unit therefor provided a lot of insights and I was very glad to learn about what benefits versus what disservices are given to students through using a textbook. I can definitely see how, if a textbook is used, a delicate balance must be established to not overuse it.
