In Unit 7, Teaching Receptive Skills, we learn the importance of both reading and listening when trying to learn the English language. Both are equally important, but for different purposes. Likewise, they both have to be taught with different precedents and expectations, because they are inherently different for the English learner to understand. Furthermore, we must understand that these skills can be broken down into further sub-categories, which would thus require further analysis and planning when put into a class-room.
Lastly, we learn the importance of involving a students interests into a proposed lesson plan. It is not sufficient to just simply teach English to the students; instead, we have to try to fuse and meld our teaching with an atmosphere of fun as well.
