I have learn't that there are four basic skills in any language. Skimming is when we read or listen for the gist of a dialogue. Focus is not needed on every single word but instead trying to get an understanding of the text. If teachers can get the students motivated and engaged in the task, there will be greater possibility that they will read and listen with real enthusiasm. Some basic keys to successful receptive skills are , choose materials that interests which motivates the students.
