This unit is about how to teach vocabulary, grammatical structures and language functions within the ESA frame.
When teaching vocabulary it is important that the teacher chooses carefully the new words to be taught and that the students understand the new vocabulary's meaning, how to use it and how to pronounce it and write it.
Similar learning goals are set when teaching new grammatical structures, at the end of the lesson the students should know what the new language means, how/when it's used, how it's formed and if it's a written or a spoken form.
The main goal when teaching language functions is the appropriateness of the language to the setting ( formal, informal, technical etc.)
There are many activities that can be used that fill the ESA structure that are appropriate to reach the aforementioned goals and those should be used creatively with in mind the appropriateness of the student's current level of English.
