Unit 12 shifts the focus from receptive skills onto speaking and writing which are classed as productive skills. The unit goes over speaking first and then goes into writing. The differences between accuracy and fluency activities are explained and it is pointed out that neither is more important than the other. An example lesson is given for both speaking and writing and how best to encourage the students in both is discussed in detail. The main thing I took from this lesson was the tips relating to teaching writing using various creative formats.
