It will be important to understand the level of accuracy and ability a student processes. Diagnostic and placement testing at the start of the course will help guide the instructor in creating lesson plans and content that meet the level and needs of that student. It is not enough to simply test at the start of the course and therefore periodic progress tests should be given so as to monitor and evaluate a students progress up to that point. In addition, many students should take practice tests in order to be familiar with additional content that may appear in external testing situations.
