In this lesson, we were asked to watch two recorded demonstrations of a lesson. In the first lesson, the instructor did not have a good attitude and responded to the students' responses inappropriately by cutting them off or being rude. The instructor in the first lesson also did not explain the concepts that he was going to teach effectively and so the students were very confused. Overall, it was not a good demonstration of how a teacher should communicate and relay information to students. The second lesson was much better, and the instructor clearly explained the concepts and effectively used engaging activities to warm the students up, and that helped them understand the goal of the lesson. The instructor in the second lesson used a much warmer tone of speaking and responded to students' questions and responses in a way that the student wouldn't feel intimidated. In watching the second lesson, I learned that teaching a concept should be clearly laid out and established, and my attitude should be non-confrontational and open in order for the students to feel better about learning the language.
