I have always wondered what the symbols are in dictionaries following the words, because I could never read them, so it was interesting to learn how to in this unit. It was also useful to learn how sounds are made and in what parts of the mouth, throat, nasal cavity, etc., because I can now better pinpoint what students are doing wrong with pronunciation, and better yet, what they can do to correct it.
