Again, I appreciate that the four skills (reading, listening, writing, and speaking) were broken up in two sections of reading and listening, and writing and speaking, because they work a little bit differently. Writing is often a skill that gets pushed to the background here, which leaves students with a lack of confidence whenever they have to write something (even simple). I often see a lot of "English" words/sentences/paragraphs written entirely in katakana, which is a very hard habit to get the students out of here in Japan. I will definitely use this unit's information to try and make some helpful writing activities or games, so that my students can get more comfortable with writing.
