For a new teacher or building rapport is important to find out the level of each student level is. Some new classes have already established rapport within the group and others new classes, there is no previous relationships. Questionnaires to discover the level of the individual is important and warmer games to "break the ice," for all students, including the teacher. There could also be new students introduced to the larger more familiar group and this could be helpful for the new student and their introduction to the established group. Knowing your students is important, and the students knowing the teacher is important for a successful class. Building rapport can be helpful with reluctant students where trust is built. Pairing of the Stronger and Weaker students will help as well.
