Great definitions on the differences of "beginners." The False Beginner makes a lot of sense, in that they have studied and or exposed to English, yet have retained little. In my line of work I find something similar, in that the adults have studied in the past, formally in school or university. However, their use in conversation is almost non existent or they are afraid to "speak up," and has taken a lot of patience and coaching to get them to communicate. I can definitely understand how a teacher, whom job it is to teach to business person/s on their hesitance. Great reminder and words of advice in the unit that the teacher is an expert on English, and not there to teach them business.
