What I have learned and enjoyed is how different types of testing to understand students levels is needed, such as placement tests, so the teachers have a good idea what is the students English comprehension and provides a base to work from, to build on. Especially if more than one student is in the class, so the same level students example beginners are not in the same class as those more fluent in English. I learned the value of testing at certain times to understand what a student has learned since starting with progress testing.
