While there are commonalities in techniques of teaching English to foreigners, there are also many special groups that require alterations to the teaching method. For instance, teaching very young people would be much different than teaching adults that are trying to learn English to use in the business world or to pass a specific test. The interests and needs of the students would be very different with these different groups therefore the lesson plans and teaching techniques would also likely be very different.
